Ahead of your visit

Here is some helpful information that you should know before you visit City Hall. This includes information about accessibility, storage and photography.

Accessibility

There is a ramp from the Courtyard at the entrance for tours and events. The City Hall Shop also has a moveable ramp, which is brought out when needed. Contact us if you need help, and we will be glad to bring it out for you: 08-508 290 78.

The stairway in the Blue Hall has 39 low steps. There is a lift inside the building, and you can borrow a wheelchair. During the guided tours, there are only limited opportunities to sit. You can bring a pram or walker on the tour.

A written summary of the guided tour is available in 34 different languages.

Storage

There is a cloakroom available all year round for outer clothing and bags. From June to August, the cloakroom is attended, but there is no supervision during the rest of the year. There are no boxes for keeping valuables. Small bags can be taken along on the tours, provided they are carried in your hand or in front of you. Backpacks/rucksacks may not be carried on your back.

If you have forgotten anything in the cloakroom, please contact the City Hall reception desk.

Toilet facilities

There are public toilets at the right corner of the Courtyard, as you face the water, standing in the Courtyard. These are open between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. If you are on a tour or are attending an event, you may also use the toilet facilities inside the building. There are also toilets for those with functional impairments.

Food and drinks

Food and drinks are not allowed to be taken in with you during the tours. There is no room where you can eat food you may have brought with you, either before or after the tour. In City Hall Park, however, you can enjoy a picnic.

Adjacent to City Hall, there are two restaurants: Ragnars Skafferi, which serves lunch, coffee and snacks, and Stadshuskällaren, which serves lunch, à la carte and the Nobel Banquet menus.
